Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Mental Health Technician, where your dedication and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children experiencing behavioral health challenges. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care, support psychiatric treatment plans, and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help promote saf and well-being for youth in our care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in behavioral health while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals committed to excellence. Responsibilities Monitor youth behavior continuously to ensure safety and adherence to plan of care Assist with youth observations, documenting behaviors and responses accurately in service note Support medication administration under supervision Implement behavior management techniques to de-escalate crises and promote positive interactions Participate in crisis intervention efforts during psychiatric or behavioral emergencies with promptness and professionalism Collaborate with staff to develop and execute individualized care plans Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to facility policies, infection control standards, and security protocols Record detailed notes on patient progress, incidents, and observations for medical documentation Skills Strong understanding of trauma informed care practices Experience with crisis intervention techniques in acute or behavioral health settings Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to mental health and patient monitoring Ability to work effectively with individuals with severe emotional disabilities or behavioral challenges Skilled in behavior management strategies aimed at promoting safety and stability Excellent patient observation skills for early identification of changes in mental status or risk factors Previous experience in juvenile facility, boys and girls club, youth medical clinics, DCS direct care, or youth residential facility environments Working directly with youth with severe emotional disabilities between the ages of 6-17 in a way that builds functional skills, such as group counseling, one-on-one counseling, provision of skills training and/or provision of therapeutic recreational activities Experience providing therapeutic foster care or working in a capacity that may not involve behavioral health care, but where the work is targeted at a defined SED population Experience in case management, therapy and/or skills training in conjunction with a behavioral health center may also be considered as qualifying experience Join us in providing compassionate respite care that transforms lives. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
