Mental Health Technician I/II- Full Time Hamilton Center, Inc. - 2.6 Indianapolis, IN Job Details Full-time $19 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Health education for individuals with mental health conditions Full Job Description Position Summary Interact with, educate, and supervise mentally ill adults, individually or in a group setting, providing a therapeutic environment within the 24 hour services division. Essential Duties/Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Interact with, monitor, educate, and assist clients in the performance of activities of daily living in accordance with the goal and objectives identified on the individualized treatment plan. When required by the site monitor client self-administration of medications and document medication in the medication administration register (MAR). Maintain records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. Interact appropriately with clients, visitors, family members and providers in a confidential, therapeutic, ethical and responsible manner. Provide direct care to a client needs including but not limited to assistance with personal hygiene tasks, bathing, toileting, feeding, and mobility. Utilize safety management, emergency procedures, and nonviolent crisis prevention intervention in crisis situations. Assist with inventory and general maintenance of supplies, facilities, and equipment. Complete housekeeping duties as assigned to maintain a clean, orderly and safe living environment. Transport consumers to and from appointments and community outings. Observe, communicate and document behaviors. Complete errands related to consumer care and facility maintenance. Participate in consumer treatment planning and implementation under the direction of professional staff involved in patient care. Work under the direction of professional staff to ensure all shift duties are completed. Attend and participate in any required staff meetings and trainings. Assist with admission and discharge of consumers as assigned using the electronic medical record. Obtain vital signs, height and weight and document in client record. Assist staff with emergency situations to ensure safety of self, clients, and others. Monitor, document, and when applicable prepare meals and snacks for clients' nutritional intake. Conduct individual and group activities and document according to policy and procedures. Demonstrate competent use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Flexibility to work any shift. Oral and written communication skills Knowledge and skills in educating clients in daily living skills Observation and decision making skills Experience in implementing group activities helpful Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity Knowledge of substance abuse / addiction issues or related work experience would be beneficial
