Technician - Early Childhood Astra Mental Health and Recovery - 3.0 Topeka, KS Job Details From $18.75 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Passenger vehicle High school diploma or GED Driver's License Working with youth Full Job Description Position Summary This position provides direct service in a group or individual setting for children who meet the criteria and who are struggling in their educational, social or home settings. This position works collaboratively with the individual served, family, school, and treatment team for treatment planning purposes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan interventions driven by the individual served treatment plan. Plan activities that include group psychoeducational processes, therapeutic activities, and therapeutic outings to practice social skills. Model and facilitate skills through engagement with the persons served. Participate in psychoeducational training to carry out job duties and continue ongoing knowledge in the field. Actively participate in team meetings and be available as necessary for parent and school meetings. Complete clinical documentation correctly. Complete documentation in a timely manner meeting the agencies minimum expectation for timely documentation consistently. Document persons served attendance, as well as attempted contact with parents/caregivers and other treatment providers when persons served attendance is inconsistent. Keep Program Team Manager informed of attendance problems and persons served progress toward completion of treatment goals. Remain informed of agency and program developments. Respect and demonstrate an ability to maintain persons served confidentiality. Support and actively promote the vision and mission of Astra mental health & recovery. Transport persons served in agency or personal vehicle as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by team managers. Other Duties Demonstrate cultural and linguistic competence Approach interactions with persons served and colleagues with a trauma sensitive lens Acts as an ambassador of the agency in the community setting, which may include doing public educational and informational presentations. Support and actively promote the vision and mission of the agency and the philosophy of the strength's perspective. Completes required trainings. Other duties as assigned, as qualified and trained for.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. some experience. Must possess and maintain the following: a valid driver's license, a good driving record, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Must successfully pass the KBI and DCF Central Registry background investigations.
Experience:
One year of experience working with children. Prefer this be in working with children with behavioral and emotional health concerns Must possess and utilize sufficient interpersonal skills to promote teamwork both internally and externally. Basic understanding of mental health issues affecting youth. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Other Physical Requirements:
Must have sufficient ambulatory capabilities to work with children in the office or community-based settings. This position requires the physical ability to safely implement physical interventions in the event that individuals served exhibit out-of-control behaviors threatening the safety of others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office, group room, and community-based working environment, requiring a flexible schedule and approach to daily tasks. Group assignments and scheduled working hours may fluctuate to meet changing program needs. This is a direct service position with frequent interruptions. Individuals served often express themselves through verbal or physical acting out. Individuals served may yell at staff, swear, engage in property destruction, and act in a physically aggressive manner towards staff or others. It should be expected that staff will engage in physical interventions at times in order to maintain safety.
