This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in psychiatric care, addiction, behavior management, and crisis intervention while working alongside a passionate team committed to excellence in behavioral health services. Duties Monitor and observe patients regularly to assess their mental and physical status, ensuring safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities, including, nutrition, and medication administration under supervision. Implement behavior management techniques to support positive behaviors and de-escalate crises effectively. Document patient observations, medical records, and treatment progress accurately and confidentially. Support psychiatric hospital or acute care team members during patient assessments and interventions. Respond promptly to behavioral or medical emergencies using crisis intervention skills to ensure safety. Engage with individuals with disabilities, addiction recovery or mental health conditions compassionately, fostering trust and cooperation. Advises and consults with on-call staff when appropriate (refer to Clinical and House On-Call protocol). Maintains knowledge of clients' status including appointments, activities, destinations, employment schedule. Tracking departure and/or return times as applicable. Completes shift note on each client noting mental and physical status and participation in program. Monitors status of environment of care and completion of housekeeping duties including food preparation as assigned. Qualifications One year experience in social service or mental health. Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively through crisis intervention techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions is preferred. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and behavior management. Ability to maintain detailed medical records accurately while respecting confidentiality standards. Certification in medication administration or willingness to obtain relevant credentials is advantageous.
