INTRODUCTION
Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a non-profit group that works in four states. We help people and communities by offering important services. JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Owensboro, KY. The ideal candidate will provide direct care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, assisting with treatment plans and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist patients with daily living activities and therapeutic exercises as directed by clinical staff. Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and any changes in condition. Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning. Respond appropriately to behavioral crises and emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as a Behavioral Health Technician or in a related role preferred. Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in behavioral health are a plus. Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy.
