Persons staffed in these positions must be able and willing to work holidays and/or weekends when requested. In addition, these positions require the ability to maintain order in a professional manner as well as be capable of resolving conflicts.
JOB DUTIES
: 1. Assist with completing in- house related in-take papers on new clients. 2. Inspect at time of in-take, all items brought in by new clients. Record all items that are confiscated. 3. Monitor clients' medication list and record all medication taken. 4. Be familiar with Client Rules and Regulations Book to observe and report any rule infractions. 5. Handle busy phone with multiple lines professionally and courteously while being mindful of Confidentiality Laws. 6. Conduct a fire drill monthly. 7. Assure that all clients and staff are informed of the agency's Fire and Disaster Plan. 8. Record all disturbances in Daily Log immediately, then report to Counselor on call. Summon the police in cases that are uncontrollable or violent. 9. Make periodic trips through the buildings and around the grounds to assure that the facility is free from intruders and any danger of fire. An hourly security check is required during the 12 AM (midnight) - 8AM shift. 10. Conduct urinalysis as instructed by Counseling Staff. 11. Monitor client telephone time. 12. Assist with maintaining a daily inventory of linens and issue them to incoming clients. 13. Help maintain supply of forms for clients including job search, meeting, and pass request. 14. Assist with the following responsibilities to maintain a healthy and safe environment conducive for recovery: a. Ensure a safe environment for clients. b. Exercise therapeutic communication skills. c. take steps to de-escalate distressed clients. d. Observe and document client behavior. e. Assist with therapeutic and recreational activities. f. Monitor clients' physical well-being. g. Provide input regarding client progress to the interdisciplinary team. h. Oversee the activities of the facility when there is no professional staff on duty. i. Possess adequate orientation and skills to assess situations related to relapse. j. To provide access to appropriate medical care when needed. k. Function as client advocate. 15. Other duties as requested by Supervisors and/or Executive Director. 16.
