Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our dynamic team. In this Overnight and Weekend role, you will provide direct support to individuals with behavioral health needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, and addiction challenges. Your energetic approach will help create a safe, nurturing environment where clients can thrive. You will assist with daily activities, monitor behavioral progress, and collaborate closely with clinical staff to implement treatment plans. Duties Support clients by implementing individualized behavior management plans and therapeutic interventions based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles. Assist with intake assessments, medical documentation, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and observe behavioral changes to inform ongoing treatment strategies. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management during behavioral episodes or emergencies to ensure safety for clients and staff. Administer medications as prescribed, following strict protocols for medication administration and documentation. Collect data on client behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions for ongoing evaluation. Engage in social work activities such as supporting patients through emotional challenges, especially those with PTSD or disabilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute effective patient care plans tailored to individual needs. Conduct medical terminology-based documentation and ensure all records are complete, accurate, and confidential. Assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence and positive behavior change. Skills Strong crisis intervention skills coupled with effective crisis management techniques. Knowledge of behavior management strategies and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently. Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and medical records management under HIPAA guidelines. Excellent patient care skills combined with compassionate communication abilities. Experience in special education settings or addiction counseling is a plus. Ability to handle sensitive situations involving PTSD care or working with people with disabilities thoughtfully and professionally. Proficiency in data collection methods related to behavioral health outcomes. Strong organizational skills for managing intake procedures, medical documentation, and progress notes.
