Role Summary:
Guidelight Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. The Behavioral Health Technician will play a crucial role in providing direct support and assistance to patients undergoing mental health treatment. Under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals, the Behavioral Health Technician will implement treatment plans, facilitate therapeutic activities, and ensure the safety and well-being of patients within our care.
Role Responsibilities:
Patient Support and Assistance:
Provide direct support to patients during various aspects of treatment, including activities of daily living, therapeutic exercises, and recreational activities.
Observation and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment interventions. Report any significant changes or concerns to the clinical team promptly.
Crisis Intervention:
Assist in managing and de-escalating crisis situations effectively and safely. Implement appropriate crisis intervention techniques as trained and directed by clinical supervisors.
Therapeutic Engagement:
Engage patients in therapeutic activities and interventions designed to promote self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills development.
Collaborative Teamwork:
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and other support staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and coping strategies to promote understanding and active participation in the recovery process.
Safety and Security:
Monitor the environment to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. Adhere to established protocols and procedures for maintaining a safe treatment environment.
Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of behavioral health and patient care.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience working in a behavioral health or mental health setting Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach to patient care. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Must pass background checks and drug screening.
