Behavioral Health Technician•Lou Masterman Center (LMC)
Location:
Cape Girardeau, MO Pay:
$17.38•$19.78/hour + shift differentials Pay range for 'Floating BHT' is $18.59•20.99/hour. Community Counseling Center offer's shift differentials for BHT staff who work an Evening or Overnight shift at its residential facilities.
Evening Shift:
+ $0.50/hour per hour worked on Evenings.
Overnight Shift:
+$1.00/hour per hour worked on Overnights Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED/HSE Must hold or obtain (before start) a MO Class E Driver's License IL residents may use Class D Must meet vehicle insurance, MVR requirements, and have reliable transportation Full-Time Shifts Available Thursday and Friday 3pm•11pm, Saturday and Sunday 7pm•7am Full Time Floating BHT Shifts vary depending on program needs Must be able to work days, evenings, and overnights PRN Typically 1 shift per week , any shift depending on need and your availability About the Lou Masterman Center (LMC) The Lou Masterman Center is a seven-bed Intensive Residential Treatment Service (IRTS) program serving adults with chronic mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and personality disorders. Many clients experience severe behavioral/emotional challenges and require structure, stability, and long-term support. Your role directly contributes to helping clients build the routines, skills, and confidence needed for more independent living. What You'll Really Be Doing This isn't a desk job. This is real, hands-on, meaningful care.
Your day might include:
Fostering SafetyCalm Create a stable, trauma-informed environment that helps clients feel safe, supported, and understood. Building Daily Living Skills Guide clients in routines like hygiene, cleaning, meal setups, and medication organization-small steps that build confidence. TeachingCoaching Support clients in learning coping skills, emotional regulation, anger management, communication strategies, and stress reduction. Collaborating with the Clinical Team Work closely with therapists, nurses, and fellow BHTs to ensure treatment plans stay on track. Maintaining Safety Perform room checks, monitor the facility, and stay alert for safety or behavioral concerns. Providing Transportation Safely transport clients to appointments, activities, and community resources in our 15•passenger van. Supporting Medication Safety Securely distribute medications, document accurately, and report discrepancies immediately. Maintaining Professional Documentation Complete clear, compliant, and timely records that support client care and regulatory requirements.
