Job Description

Dacotah Foundation is growing—and we're looking for Part-Time Behavioral Health Technicians. This is the kind of role where what you do truly matters and changes lives! About the Role You'll be working in our residential behavioral health programs, supporting individuals with mental health and/or substance use concerns. We use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach focused on stabilization, growth, and long-term recovery—meeting people where they're at and helping them move forward. Schedule & Flexibility Day, evening, and overnight shifts available Every other weekend required Cross-train across programs for more hours, variety, and experience This is a perfect role if you want flexibility while still doing meaningful work—great for students, second jobs, or anyone wanting more control over their schedule. Training & Growth Opportunities Certifications:
Medication Aide, Registered Nursing Assistant, CPR/First Aid Training in motivational interviewing Trauma-informed and person-centered care approaches Education on SAMHSA's pillars of recovery Ongoing skill-building and advancement opportunities What the Job Feels Like Some shifts are high-energy and fast-moving: Supporting admissions and transitions Responding to real-time behavioral health needs Collaborating with your team and thinking on your feet Other moments are slower, but just as powerful: Sitting with someone who needs support, building trust, connection and rapport Participating in fun activities and community engagement with residents Helping individuals develop skills for long-term recovery It's a balance of action and connection—where you stay engaged while also having the chance to truly be there for someone. What You'll Be Doing Creating a safe, welcoming, recovery-focused environment Supporting individuals through crisis, stabilization, and recovery Monitoring safety, substance use, and mental health needs Assisting with admissions, transitions, and daily structure Using de-escalation and supportive communication skills Facilitating or assisting with groups and activities Monitoring medications and completing documentation Helping maintain a clean, comfortable living space What We're Looking For Compassionate, empathetic, and committed people who want to help others Someone who wants meaningful work—not just a paycheck Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Team-oriented, reliable, and able to stay calm under pressure Willingness to learn—we'll teach you everything you need Ability to work every other weekend Background check and clean driving record required This isn't just a job—it's a place where you can show up, make a difference, and be part of a team that truly cares. $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
