Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Patient Monitor for our Sitter Unit, in our Brunswick Facility.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Basic Life Support (CPR) through
American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements:
Night Shift, 40 hours per week (5 shifts per week), 11p-7:30a, includes every other weekend and some holidays.
Essential Functions:
- Complies with patient care decisions made by the professional staff and accepts responsibility for following instructions, fulfilling assignments and learning from feedback
- Follows all Suicidal Precautions and Close Observation monitoring policies and procedures
- Observes and reports patient's conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality
- Observes and applies appropriate interventions
- Maintains a safe and orderly work/patient care environment
- Assists patients with daily living activities (i.e.; feeding, dressing patients, showering/bathing).
- Transfers, escorts, transports, and ambulates patients
- Assures patients have correct ID bands
- Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner
- Handles and disposes of infectious and hazardous materials per policies and procedures
- Maintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct Policy Patient Monitoring
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information
Suicide Monitoring:
Maintains safety of patients by remaining within an arms distance at all times
Close Observations:
maintains safety of close observation patients per policy
