Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services. Learn About a Day in the Life of a
PCT:
Responsibilities Work under the moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all necessary duties, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs. Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff. Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests. Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties. Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or
GED. BLS
certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school. Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care. Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course. Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy. Knowledge of medical terminology.
