Payrate $19/hr plus stacking shift differentials!! 12 Hour shifts available The Mental Health Technician (MHT) will: welcome and admit consumers into the program, participate in the delivery of physical care to consumers, participate in the delivery of therapeutic care to consumers, observation, monitoring and restraint, and discharge planning. Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome and admit consumers into the program Welcome and orient consumers to the program/unit. May complete initial admittance forms for new patients. Provide thorough search of consumers and consumers' belongings according to program guidelines and agency policy. Secure and catalog consumers' belongings according to program guidelines and agency policy. Participate in the delivery of physical care to consumers Maintain therapeutic relationship with consumers and serve as advocate for consumer. Will work side-by-side with professional staff as valuable members of the team. Assist patients with their personal hygiene and other activities of daily living such as providing supplies for showering, and keeping beds, clothing and living areas clean. Take and record measures of patient's general physical condition, such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure and respiration, to provide daily information. Accurately measure and record consumer vital signs, I&O and assist with consumer care procedures as assigned and monitored by RN. Assist housekeeping and other team members in maintaining a neat and clean environment Prep and serve meals to consumers at appropriate times Perform unit tasks such as answering the phone, assembling charts and filing. Ensures vital signs are completed as directed Ensures unit educational groups and/or activity session are being completed Participate in the delivery of therapeutic care to consumers Facilitate educational groups and/ or activity sessions. Work with team to ensure the environment promotes safety and recovery. Follow and consistently perform all MHT duties related to daily unit milieu schedule Constantly engage and interact with patients while working on the unit Promote personal growth and development by assisting consumers in adapting to and coping with internal and external stresses. Observation, monitoring and restraint Observe and monitor consumers every 15 minutes to detect behavior patterns and general physical and emotional wellbeing of consumers. Report observations in medical chart and seek medical staff consultation or intervention when needed. Intervene to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients by verbal or physical means as required. Document all services to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures. Discharge Planning Participate in discharge process and work closely with Charge RN to ensure that consumers are properly prepared for discharge. The following duties shall be completed during consumer discharge: have consumer return all CCC unit clothing Ensuring that consumer obtains medications from nurse Ensure consumer receives all stored personal property. Complete all required discharge documentation before consumer leaves facility
QUALIFICATIONS
•Candidate must be 18 years of age or older in this direct service position as a Mental Health Technician.
EDUCATION
Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
EXPERIENCE
No experience necessary 1 years' experience in mental health or health care field preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. Must demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use agency and/or personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office.

SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION
This job is classified as a "safety-sensitive" position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the "safety-sensitive" classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana per the Family & Children's Services Drug Free Workplace Policy, including possible revocation of a job offer or dismissal from employment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Because patients/clients need care 24 hours a day, scheduled work hours may include nights, weekends and holidays. Mental health technicians spend most of their time on their feet and are sometimes confronted with violent patients who must be restrained. Must be able to lift and/or maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds. This position requires frequent repetitive motions to include but not limited to: bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, reaching, pulling, pushing and maintaining balance. Must be able to stand and/or walk for a minimum of 8 hours at a time during each shift. Must be able to pass Therapeutic Options training and CPR.
