Summary of Responsibilities Our voluntary short-term mental health respite is centered around evidence- based best practice treatments individualized for each patient and their needs. The Mental Health Therapy Technician will use their professional skills to assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and transferring. Our Mental Health Therapy Technician is to keep our patients safe and make sure all needs are met. As a team member they will assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff. This position is under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse. We offer our patients a short-term intensive and concentrated program. Patience, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate both written and verbally are imperative for this role. Our smaller 16 bed facility ensures that the Mental Health Therapy Technician can quickly connect with our patients, guarantee patient dignity, and make a positive lasting impression. Jackson House Oregon City provides enhanced voluntary respite services to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and who need 24/7 structured support to resolve their discomfort. Enhanced respite services include nursing, group and individual therapy, peer support, and discharge coordination in a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based treatment environment. Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. High School Diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of as a direct care worker in an inpatient or outpatient Mental/ Behavioral Health facility highly preferred. Obtain and maintain current BLS CPR. Ability to confidently work with young adults, adult, and older adult populations. Ability to achieve a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas. A license driver with an automobile that is in good working order to get to and from work in various weather conditions to ensure reliability.
