Summary of Responsibilities The Residential Counselor (RC) plays an integral role at Cameron Care, working in a collaborative team environment to provide exceptional care for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. The main goal of the Resident Care Manager is to supervise all residents on site for changes in psychiatric presentation and provide support and/or intervention as needed to ensure the safety of staff and clients. By using their knowledge, the RC will take into consideration the client's age, mental and behavioral health history, and cultural diversity to provide trauma informed care effectively and respectfully. This includes administering and maintaining all prescription medications due during your shift, cooking and meal prep for the next shifts meals, encouraging residents to complete ADLS using positive feedback, and more. With a total of 39 beds divided between our three locations, our smaller environment ensures that the Residential Counselor can quickly connect with our clients and make a positive lasting impression. A local company, Cameron Care has provided residential care and treatment for over thirty-five years. Cameron Care serves clients that are diagnosed with severe and chronic mental health disorders. Our program provides residential treatment, structure, and support in a home like setting for clients who need stability and are working towards independence. We coordinate with our treatment team and create individualized care plans in order to help people reach their full potential. https://www.cameroncare.com/ Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. High School Diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of as a direct care worker in an inpatient or outpatient Mental/ Behavioral Health facility highly preferred. One (1) year of medication administration experience required. Obtain and maintain current BLS CPR. Ability to confidently work with young adult, adult, and geriatric populations. Ability to achieve a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas. A license driver with an automobile that is in good working order to get to and from work in various weather conditions to ensure reliability.
