(047) PURPOSE The Behavioral Health Technician contributes to safe, supportive, and inclusive PreK-12 learning environments by assisting students with significant behavioral, social-emotional, and academic needs. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the position implements and models evidence-based therapeutic, behavioral, and instructional supports across school and program settings. The Behavioral Health Technician works as part of an interdisciplinary team to assist with student skills development, crisis stabilization, de-escalation, and staff consultation. Assignments may include ongoing support at a specific school or program, or temporary itinerant deployment to address acute behavioral health needs districtwide. The Behavior Technician at Meadowlark-Children's Day Education Center will be responsible for: Transition students who attended our program back to their previous Salem-Keizer school settings and share student information with the receiving school team. Assist students in our primary, intermediate, and high school settings. Develop (with assistance) Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. Provide support for students in an alternative classroom setting who are struggling to access their main classroom and access academic instruction.
