Job Description
The Behavioral Health Technician, or Nurse Technician, provides geriatric patient supervision under direct supervision, assisting in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment. High School Diploma or equivalent required One year experience in the human service field preferred; internships/field placement experience acceptable Basic Life Support certification required, must be completed prior to end of orientation period; Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Drivers License Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and family members Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to express ideas in a clear and concise manner Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant / Mental Health Technician, maintains a safe and therapeutic environment; provides direct psychosocial and physical nursing care to patients, in both individual and group settings; and implements the program schedule according to the patient's individual treatment plan.
