Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care and support individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, and addiction issues. Your energetic approach will help foster a safe, supportive environment where clients can work toward their recovery and growth goals. You will collaborate closely with clinical staff to implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients with diverse behavioral health needs Monitor and document patient behaviors, vital signs, and medication administration accurately in medical records Support clients during intake procedures and facilitate therapeutic activities aligned with their care goals Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate challenging situations safely and effectively Apply behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis strategies to promote positive behaviors Collect data on client progress, behavior patterns, and treatment outcomes for review by clinical staff Maintain HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation responsibly Assist with medical terminology understanding and record keeping related to behavioral health treatments Collaborate with social workers, special education teams, and other professionals to support comprehensive care plans Participate in ongoing training on topics such as working with children, autism, disabilities, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and crisis management Skills Proven experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage emergency situations calmly and effectively Knowledge of behavioral health principles, behavior management techniques, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) methods Ability to accurately measure vital signs and assist with medication administration following proper protocols Excellent communication skills for effective patient care documentation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare data collection processes Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on safety, dignity, and respect for all individuals Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards Join us in this rewarding role where your energy makes a real impact!
