Full-time Job Summary:
Snug Harbor is seeking a dependable and motivated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support clients in a residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program. This position plays a key role in maintaining a structured, safe, and supportive environment for individuals in early recovery.
Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and support to clients in a residential setting Help maintain daily structure, routines, and a therapeutic environment Conduct regular client checks and documentation Assist with admissions, discharges, and client orientation Enforce program rules, expectations and boundaries in a professional manner Communicate effectively with nursing and clinical staff Respond to client needs and concerns calmly and appropriately Facilitate life skills groups and recreational outings to promote socialization, healthy leisure activities, and community engagement among residents Maintain accurate documentation of resident activities, incidents, and observations, adhering to program protocols and confidentiality standards. Prepare and serve meals for clients; maintain kitchen cleanliness Observe medication administration and report any concerns to nursing staff Transporting clients safely to outside appointments, meetings and/or recreational activities in company vehicle
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or human services preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and boundaries with residents and colleagues CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Reliable, team-orientated, and able to handle a fast-paced environment
