Job Description

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is excited to welcome a passionate and driven casual Crisis Technician I to our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) team! Safe Harbor's Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) is an 8-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to inpatient behavioral health care. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising registered nurses, CRNPs/PAs, master's level therapists, technicians, and a discharge specialist—works collaboratively to offer comprehensive services such as medication management, therapeutic support (both group and individual), and essential referrals for ongoing care. As our ideal candidate, you will possess a high school diploma and bring a strong desire to learn. While prior experience in behavioral health or crisis- related settings is a plus, it is not required. We will provide comprehensive training upon hire to ensure your success in this role! This casual position will work a schedule of primarily weekends, with shift flexibility to accommodate first, second and third shift schedules. Some holidays as needed, and occasional weekdays to cover full-time staff when needed. The dress code is business casual and free on-site parking, ensuring a comfortable and convenient work environment. Responsibilities:
Support daily living needs, hygiene, and crisis intervention. Provide counseling using recovery-focused, strength-based methods. Collaborate on treatment planning with interdisciplinary teams. Maintain safety and therapeutic environment. Complete documentation and participate in staff meetings.
