Environmental Health and Safety Technician:
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician will work in a Team environment to promote a positive safety culture while supporting all areas of operations. This position will assist in implementing policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees while also maintaining compliance to federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Technician will assist with hazardous waste management activities and other environmental regulation activities as needed. The ideal candidate will support activities at multiple sites within the Greenville/Anderson/Pickens areas. Responsibilities for
Environmental Health and Safety Technician:
Work in a Team environment to promote a positive safety culture Support operations, engineering, inventory, maintenance, and other teams to achieve compliance to training and standard operating procedures (SOP) Recognize, evaluate, and recommend corrective actions for the control of potential workplace hazards Maintain a working knowledge of regulations as they pertain to OSHA, SCDHEC, EPA and DOT Inspect work areas for regulatory compliance Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database and assist with internal medical device SDS preparation Assist with preparation and potentially lead Safety Committee meetings Order Personal Protective Equipment Assist with Incident Investigation and Corrective Action plan and closure Provide New Employee safety training and required annual and refresher training as outlined in Corporate Training Matrix Review and update Standard Operating Procedures/Programs (Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation Program, Hazardous Waste Management, etc.) Assist with waste management, air, and water regulatory compliance Required/Preferable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for
Environmental Health and Safety Technician:
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Software (Microsoft Word, Excel, et. al.).
  • Good work organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assertively interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Train, supervise, coach employees.
  • Good technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential business information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think proactively, troubleshoot, investigate and improve systems.
  • Highly responsible for actions of self and possibly others on the team.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Associate Degree Preferred Years of Experience:
2-3 years Preferred Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred, CPR/First Aid Training Certification, RCRA and DOT Training Certifications, Proficient in
Microsoft Excel, and Word Environmental Requirements:
  • Must be able to adapt to multiple indoor work environments (shared office space, shared lab space and production areas).
  • Experience with 5/6 S Lean programs and their implementation and sustaining tools.

Physical Requirements:
Employees are regularly required to talk and hear and are frequently required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Employees are frequently required to walk with occasional requirements to climb stairs; use of hands for gross manipulation, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
