Psychiatric Technician #LP1

Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI), 221
Stewarts Ferry Pike, Nashville, TN About MTMHI:
Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute is a state psychiatric hospital in Nashville, TN, with a total of 207 beds across four sub-acute units, three acute units, and a Forensic Services Program. We are dedicated to providing compassionate and individualized care for our patients.
Position Overview:
As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our patients' daily care and well-being.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Crisis Intervention:
De-escalate agitated patients using verbal techniques and, when needed, perform CPR and other emergency responses.
Patient Engagement:
Lead activities, provide individualized teaching, and assist patients in skill-building to promote their mental and physical health.
Safety Monitoring:
Conduct routine rounds to account for each patient and ensure a safe environment.
Schedule Options:
Shifts:
Day and night shifts are available. 12.5 hour shifts!
Overtime:
You may have the opportunity to work overtime, as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Background Check:
This position requires a background check as part of the hiring process.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary:
$3,250/month ($39,000/year)
