MindWellMindWell Urgent Care is a fast-growing outpatient psychiatric practice in Dallas dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. We are expanding our services to include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy and are looking for a motivated TMS Technician to join our clinical team and help build this program from the ground up.
Position Overview:
The TMS Technician works under the direct supervision of our Medical Director (psychiatrist) to administer TMS treatments, support patient care, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our TMS program. This is a patient-facing role that requires both clinical attentiveness and genuine warmth — our patients are often in vulnerable stages of treatment and need a steady, trusted presence.
Responsibilities:
Administer TMS treatment sessions per protocols established by the supervising psychiatrist Accurately position the electromagnetic coil and calibrate motor threshold at treatment initiation Monitor patients throughout sessions for safety, comfort, and adverse response Complete session documentation and assist patients with psychiatric rating scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7, etc.) Coordinate and schedule TMS appointments; manage treatment calendars Verify insurance authorizations for TMS therapy Educate patients on the procedure, expected course, and what to report Maintain TMS equipment per manufacturer guidelines; report technical issues promptly Communicate patient observations and progress updates to the clinical team
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting (medical assistant, psychiatric tech, or similar) Prior TMS experience a strong plus but not required — hands-on training and certification provided Comfortable working with psychiatric patients across a range of diagnoses Strong documentation skills and attention to detail Warm, patient-centered communication style
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
