Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our brand new psychiatric hospital. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals, particularly adults and older adults, to implement behavior management strategies and support their overall well-being. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and ensuring that clients achieve their personal goals in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis principles. Provide direct support to clients, assisting them in daily activities and promoting independence. Collect and document data on client progress, behaviors, and interventions. Engage in crisis intervention and management when necessary, ensuring the safety of clients and staff. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, and healthcare providers. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs when required. Support clients dealing with PTSD, addiction issues, or other behavioral health challenges. Skills Experience working with psychiatric patients. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and behavior management strategies. Understanding of medical terminology, documentation, and patient care protocols. Ability to conduct intake assessments and engage in effective communication with clients and families. Proficiency in data collection methods relevant to behavioral health outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
