Company parties Free food & snacks Position Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides supervision, support, and structure for residents in a residential treatment setting. Staff are responsible for maintaining safety, enforcing program expectations, supporting healthy coping skills, and helping create a consistent and therapeutic environment for residents. Behavioral Health Technicians work closely with the clinical and case management teams to support resident stability, accountability, and progress within the program. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise residents and maintain a safe, structured environment Enforce program rules, expectations, schedules, and house guidelines consistently Monitor resident behavior and report concerns to supervisors or clinical staff Support residents in utilizing healthy coping skills and emotional regulation techniques Assist with conflict resolution and use approved de-escalation strategies during crisis situations Provide appropriate supervision during meals, groups, recreation, transportation, and community activities Maintain professional boundaries and model appropriate behavior Complete required documentation including shift notes, incident reports, and behavioral observations Communicate effectively with Program Director and other staff Conduct room checks, safety checks, and facility monitoring as required Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and overall structure within the residence Transport residents as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Experience working in behavioral health, residential treatment, mental health or substance abuse preferred Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent in high-stress situations Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to establish and maintain healthy boundaries Basic computer and documentation skills Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred Ability to pass background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications CPR/First Aid certification Crisis intervention or de-escalation training Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles Experience working in residential or behavioral health settings Schedule Full-time and part-time positions available (Swing and Graves) Day, swing, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required Work Environment This position works in a residential behavioral health setting and may involve exposure to challenging behaviors, emotionally stressful situations, and crisis intervention scenarios.
