  • 7:00 AM) Second Chances Comprehensive Services is seeking a dedicated and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with mental health and developmental needs.
The DSP plays a critical role in implementing individualized treatment and behavioral support plans, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and structured environment. Services are provided across various settings including group homes, private residences, and community-based environments. Primary Responsibilities Skill Development Teach and reinforce daily living skills including budgeting, cooking, and social interaction Support clients in achieving individualized goals outlined in service plans Behavioral Support Implement behavior intervention plans Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing Support meal preparation and medication administration as applicable Community Integration Facilitate participation in community activities, employment, and social engagements Promote independence and social inclusion Advocacy & Documentation Advocate for client rights and well-being Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including progress notes Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Additional education in Human Services or related field preferred Certifications CPR and First Aid required (or willingness to obtain) TOVA and medication administration training preferred or provided Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations Requirements Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record Ability to successfully pass all required background checks (including DSS and fingerprinting) Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods Capability to lift or assist individuals up to 50 lbs Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, overnight, weekends, and holiday Why Join Us?
