Full Job Description Service Areas:
Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, James City County, Franklin, Isle of Wight County.
Coverage:
Entire Region 5. The Behavioral Health Responder provides mobile support to individuals experiencing behavioral health needs across the Hampton Roads region. This role requires an active MCR Certification, strong assessment skills, and the ability to respond professionally in community settings. Responders deliver brief interventions, safety planning, de-escalation support, and accurate documentation while following agency protocols and maintaining high ethical standards. This position supports a 24/7 mobile response program with flexible part‑time and PRN scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mobile, community-based behavioral health support Conduct assessments and determine appropriate intervention needs Deliver brief interventions and safety planning Maintain professionalism and ethical standards at all times Complete timely and accurate documentation Collaborate with community partners as needed Respond within assigned service areas across Region 5
Requirements:
