Saturday/Sunday/Monday Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Weekend-Only Mental Health Technician to join our behavioral health team. Responsibilities Monitor and observe patients continuously to assess their mental and physical status, documenting changes accurately in medical records. Assist in implementing treatment plans by supporting therapeutic activities and behavioral interventions tailored to individual patient needs. Respond promptly and effectively to psychiatric crises or emergencies, utilizing crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper procedures are followed according to medical terminology and protocols. Maintain a safe environment by managing behavior issues and applying behavior management strategies to promote positive patient interactions. Collaborate with nursing staff, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care. Document patient observations, interventions, and responses meticulously in medical records, adhering to confidentiality standards. Provide compassionate patient care by engaging with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges in a respectful and supportive manner. Skills Knowledge of psychiatry principles, crisis intervention techniques, and acute care practices. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health conditions in hospital or correctional facility medical clinic settings. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and patient monitoring protocols. Ability to perform detailed patient observation and behavior management effectively in high-pressure situations. Familiarity with medical records management, documentation standards, and confidentiality requirements. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Prior experience in hospital environments or corrections facility medical clinics is highly desirable.
