Job Description

TriSource is seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Mental Health Technician to a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Management Team. This role provides direct supervision and coordination of Mental Health Technician staff while supporting the safety, care, and treatment of clients experiencing mental health and co-occurring disorders. The Lead Mental Health Technician plays a key leadership role in maintaining unit operations, supporting staff development, ensuring quality documentation, and assisting with crisis intervention and daily client care. This position also serves as unit leadership in the absence of the CSU Program Manager II, Program Supervisor II, or Nursing Supervisor.
Salary:
$68,36427 annually
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with flexibility required for evenings, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and provide performance management for Mental Health Technicians Complete interim and annual staff evaluations Create and maintain staffing schedules and assist with payroll accuracy Manage staff call-outs and ensure adequate unit coverage Conduct Electronic Health Record (EHR) audits and quality assurance reviews Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation of new staff Participate in agency management and planning meetings Respond to emergencies and assist with crisis intervention Monitor and maintain unit safety and client well-being Assist clients with activities of daily living, hygiene, meals, and laundry Facilitate educational and therapeutic groups and complete required documentation Complete shift reports, progress notes, and 15-minute safety checks Welcome and orient clients to the unit, complete intake inventories, and check for contraband Facilitate client discharges in collaboration with the case management team Manage meal requisitions and coordinate with catering services Maintain cleanliness and organization of the unit Attend required trainings, meetings, and seminars Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, Nursing, or a related field Experience working with individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders Experience with clinical documentation and group facilitation Previous supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting preferred Must be registered as a QMHP-T or A Advanced computer literacy and documentation skills CPR Certification required Valid Virginia driver's license required
