Reports To:
Clinical Director Position Summary Faith Recovery is seeking a compassionate and dependable part-time Peer Recovery Specialist for our men's home. This individual will provide peer-based support, mentorship, and recovery-focused services to individuals participating in our substance use disorder treatment programs. As someone with lived experience in recovery, the Peer Recovery Specialist will use their personal journey to support and inspire others in achieving long-term recovery. Key Responsibilities Facilitate or co-facilitate peer support and recovery-based groups Share lived experiences to promote hope and model recovery behavior Support clients through all phases of recovery: engagement, stabilization, and maintenance Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups, peer support meetings, and life skills sessions Assist clients with accessing community resources (housing, employment, medical, etc.) Document interactions and progress in alignment with program policies and compliance standards Collaborate with clinical staff and participate in treatment planning and progress reviews Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records and client documentation Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to all confidentiality requirements Qualifications At least 12 months of cumulative paid or volunteer experience in behavioral health or recovery services within the past 3 years High school diploma or equivalent required Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) preferred or willingness to obtain certification Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) preferred or willingness to obtain certification Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent, and person-centered care Ability to work night shifts is a major plus Additional Requirements CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain prior to start) Behavior Management and 32-Hour Medication Administration Certification (Board of Nursing) preferred Ability to pass a criminal background check and DSS registry screening Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic records systems Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis resolution skills Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as required
