Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medication Technician (Behavioral Health/ Memory Care), where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with behavioral health needs through safe and accurate medication administration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on compassionate care, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents or patients. You will collaborate closely with nursing staff, physicians, and care teams to deliver high-quality medication management in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or community-based programs. Your expertise will help promote stability, recovery, and improved quality of life for those under your care. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols Monitor patients' responses to medications, noting any adverse effects or reactions Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner Assist with medication reconciliation and ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals Support patient care activities by taking vital signs, recording medical information, and updating records in accordance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with nursing staff to provide comprehensive care for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, or other behavioral health conditions Assist with specialized care procedures such as tube feeding, catheter care, and medication administration for patients with complex needs Follow all safety protocols related to medication administration and patient care to ensure compliance with healthcare standards Skills MUST possess a valid HCA or NAC certification prior to begining work. Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and nursing practices Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation and medication tracking Familiarity with hospice care, memory care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care settings Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Excellent caregiving skills including vital signs measurement, tube feeding assistance, catheter care, and general patient support Prior experience in medical office settings or acute care environments is highly desirable Join us to make a meaningful impact through compassionate medication management!
