This position is located at our Toppenish Hospital in the Behavioral Health Unit.
Shift:
Variable Shifts What you get to do every day! As the Behavioral Health Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider, and general clinical duties.You will:
Perform and provide patient care duties and assist patients with general hygiene as delegated by Program Director or designee Assist with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and responding promptly to patient needs and requests Prepare and disassemble patient rooms for admission and discharge Provide support for the patient's therapeutic treatment plan Utilize effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and therapeutic atmosphere Frequently observe and record patient information pertinent to treatment plan and report information to clinic team Complete progress notes for assigned patients per program and hospital policy Must be capable of engaging in crisis management using policy-approved verbal de-escalation, physical and mechanical restraint techniques, as trained, when managing potentially dysregulated or combative patients, while ensuring the safety of self, patients, and staff without physical restrictions. Other duties as assigned Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization High School Education or GED WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration Eligible Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred, or willing to obtain Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) upon hire WA State Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire Must maintain BLS Oral and written fluency in the English language Minimum of one year experience in Behavioral Health or related field Preferred Qualifications. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or willing to obtain Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) immediately upon hire as well as successful completion of NAR Training in which the employee is able to demonstrate all required competencies This position is identified as a safety-sensitive position for which impairment while on the job would present a substantial risk of death.
