Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and family planning services within a supportive and patient-centered environment. Your expertise will help empower women through all stages of reproductive health, ensuring safe, respectful, and high-quality care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to develop personalized care plans. Perform obstetric procedures such as suturing, medication administration, IV insertion, venipuncture, and injection administration with precision and care. Monitor fetal well-being through sonography and other diagnostic tools; interpret results to inform clinical decisions. Manage labor and delivery processes in inpatient or outpatient settings, ensuring safety for both mother and baby. Provide family planning counseling, perform cervical exams, and assist with contraception methods aligned with patient needs. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans, discharge planning, pain management strategies, and follow-up care. Ensure compliance with NCQA standards and ICD/CPT coding requirements for billing and medical documentation accuracy. Assist with specimen collection/processing and participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and care excellence. Experience Proven experience in hospital or clinical settings with a strong background in obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), labor & delivery, NICU experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in suturing, sonography, physical examinations, medication administration, IV insertion, venipuncture, and specimen processing. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical records management; knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding is highly desirable. Prior inpatient or outpatient care experience involving acute care scenarios; ability to monitor vital signs and manage pain effectively. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to obstetric care; understanding of medical terminology relevant to maternal health services. Experience working within hospital or clinical environments that adhere to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality. Strong skills in patient assessment, discharge planning, family planning counseling, and care plan development are essential for success in this role.
