Full Job Description:
Company Information Eden Birth & Wellness is a homebirth midwifery practice committed to providing thoughtful, safe, family-centered care throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, newborn transition, and women's wellness. Our practice is currently restructuring and growing, with a renewed focus on excellent communication, strong clinical standards, collaborative teamwork, and high-quality out-of-hospital birth care. We are seeking a Certified Professional Midwife who is aligned with physiologic birth, informed consent, evidence-based care, and respectful support of women and families. This is an opportunity for a midwife who wants to be part of a growing practice, serve families in a meaningful way, and help strengthen the presence of community birth in our region. Position Summary Eden Birth & Wellness is seeking a Certified Professional Midwife / Homebirth Midwife to join our team. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, dependable, calm under pressure, and able to communicate well with families, staff, hospitals, collaborating providers, and community partners. This role includes prenatal care, labor and birth attendance, postpartum and newborn care, well-woman exams, charting, participation in team communication, and support of clinic operations as needed. We are open to discussing full-time or part-time arrangements depending on experience, availability, and practice needs. Essential Responsibilities The Certified Professional Midwife will be expected to: Provide compassionate, high-quality prenatal, birth, postpartum, newborn, and well-woman care Attend homebirths and provide safe, competent out-of-hospital birth support Promote physiologic birth while recognizing when intervention, consultation, or transfer is appropriate Provide care based on informed consent, shared decision-making, and respect for client autonomy  Perform prenatal visits, postpartum visits, newborn assessments, well-woman exams, and problem-focused visits within scope of practice Maintain accurate and timely charting Communicate professionally with clients, staff, hospitals, EMS, consulting providers, and community partners Participate in team meetings, case reviews, training, and continuing education as needed Support practice protocols, safety standards, emergency preparedness, and quality improvement Work collaboratively with midwives, nurses, birth assistants, administrative staff, and leadership Represent Eden Birth & Wellness professionally within the birth community Additional Responsibilities Depending on role structure and availability, responsibilities may also include: Assisting with clinic flow and patient care Reviewing labs, records, and clinical follow-up items Participating in client education Supporting postpartum home visits Providing well-woman care within scope of practice, including annual exams, basic gynecologic care, and patient education Helping improve systems, protocols, and team communication Contributing to community outreach and professional relationship-building Participating in practice development as Eden continues to grow Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: Have experience in homebirth, birth center, or out-of-hospital birth care Be confident in independent clinical judgment while also valuing collaboration Be dependable, organized, and responsive while on call Have strong communication skills with clients and team members Be comfortable with both routine care and urgent/emergent birth situations Value evidence-based care, informed consent, and physiologic birth Be open to continued learning, feedback, and practice growth Have a heart for serving families with professionalism, warmth, and clinical excellence Required Qualifications Certified Professional Midwife credential Current or ability to obtain appropriate licensure/authorization to practice in Arkansas, if applicable Current NRP certification Current BLS/CPR certification Experience attending births Knowledge of out-of-hospital birth standards and emergency protocols Ability to work in person and participate in an on-call schedule Reliable transportation Strong documentation and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Prior homebirth or birth center experience Experience with prenatal care, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and well-woman exams Experience with electronic health records Strong community relationships or interest in community outreach Additional training in lactation, childbirth education, herbal/nutritional support, or holistic women's health Schedule This position includes a combination of clinic time, prenatal and postpartum care, well-woman visits, and on-call birth coverage. Schedule and call expectations will be discussed based on the candidate's availability, experience, and whether the role is full-time or part-time. Compensation Compensation is based on experience, licensure, schedule, and call responsibilities. This position includes a guaranteed base salary with birth-based production bonuses.
Pay range:
$62,000
  • 88,000 per year Final compensation will depend on experience level, expected caseload, and overall fit for the role.
