Job Description
Description Join Women's Health Arizona at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center as a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist and be part of a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist Team. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population in our busy and high-risk inpatient OB and GYN service.
Clinical Duties:
Deliver comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, OB Triage units. Provide immediate care in the Emergency Department, responding to obstetrics and gynecological emergencies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care in Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, and Intensive Care Units. Offer support on Pediatric Floors as needed, ensuring holistic care for patients and their families.Specific Responsibilities:
Work closely with the OB/GYN Hospitalists to manage low-risk vaginal deliveries, conduct daily rounds, handle uncomplicated OB/GYN consults, and OB Triage outpatient visits. Collaborate in admitting and rounding on high-risk OB patients/transfers, managing complex OB/GYN admissions/consults, and responding to OB Traumas and OB Rapid Responses in the ED. Serve as a First Assist in Cesarean sections and emergency GYN surgeries during periods when usual hospital First Assists are not available. Provide CNM expertise and insights on hospital safety and quality initiatives, actively participating in quality improvement initiatives. Adhere to a schedule consisting of 7-8 24-hour in-house shifts per month, with occasional online meetings for professional development and team collaboration.Skills & Qualifications:
Must possess excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with OB/GYN Hospitalist during each shift. Demonstrates resilience and thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapting to varying patient acuity levels. Attention to detail and proficiency in completing accurate and thorough documentation is essential. Willingness to learn and apply simple billing procedures for hospital patient care, ensuring compliance with billing regulations. Requirements Certified Nurse Midwife with a valid license in the state of Arizona, with a commitment to delivering advanced nursing care to women across the lifespan. Previous experience in GYN surgical assistance and/or RNFA certification is advantageous for supporting complex surgical procedures. Demonstrated experience in the OB/GYN field, with inpatient experience being highly desirable.
