Certified Nurse Midwife - San Luis Obispo, CA

Job Description Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our women's health team in San Luis Obispo, CA. As a CNM, you'll play a pivotal role in providing care to women across all stages of pregnancy and childbirth, along with general gynecological services. This position emphasizes patient-centered care and shared decision-making, supporting Adventist Health's mission to improve community health. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum, ensuring safe, compassionate care for both mother and newborn. Conduct prenatal, postpartum, and gynecological exams, performing necessary screenings and tests. Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive care to promote wellness. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including OB/GYNs, nurses, and support staff, to create integrated and individualized care plans. Monitor and manage complications, recognizing when to consult or refer to higher levels of care. Advocate for patient-centered, culturally sensitive, and respectful care in line with Adventist Health's core values.

Qualifications Education:

Master's Degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Midwifery.

Certification:

Current Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

Licensure:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Midwife licenses in the state of California.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in women's health or midwifery, with experience in both hospital and outpatient settings preferred.
