My ObGyn is seeking an additional CNM for our growing practice in Fort Collins, CO, located in the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We are proud to be a life-affirming clinic. Our clinic is our family, and we treat everyone with compassion. Our growing team consists of 3 obstetricians/gynecologists, and 2 women's health Medical Assistants and an LPN. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based, compassionate, and conscientious care. Our providers get along uniquely well and practice excellent medicine while respecting the need for a balanced professional and personal life. We would love to add to our team as our practice continues to grow! We deliver at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins CO. Poudre Valley boasts a level 3 NICU with 32 private rooms as well as a newly renovated birthing center. MFM services available for consultation. We would like to make midwives an integral part of our group and practice full-scope ObGyn care, alongside our physicians. CNM will participate in hospital and overnight call where Physician backup is readily available. Ultrasound, and lab technicians are also available in our clinic. Patients will see both physicians and midwives throughout their care. Our ideal candidate is flexible and brings a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for evidence-based medicine. Fort Collins is a suburban community located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with an approximate population of 175,000 people. Preferred:
2+ years of CNM experience The position will be based at our Fort Collins Colorado clinic. Position includes clinic shifts and call shifts. C-section assist experience is preferred. Deliveries at UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital. Requirements for Certified Nurse Midwife Masters in nursing from an accredited Nurse Midwifery Program. Certified in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited midwifery program. Obtain and maintain an unrestricted medical staff appointment with UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Colorado. Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges Full prescriptive authority Maintain compliance with HIPPA, OSHA and Code of Conduct. Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice. Eligible to provide services reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Responsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliance with policies such as HIPAA, OSHA, and Code of Conduct. Responsible for Maintaining compliance with all Continuing Medical Education requirements, Federal and state requirements as well as maintenance of certification requirements for the practice of Certified Nurse Midwifery in Colorado. Must be eligible for, obtain, and maintain an active provider enrolment with Medicaid and Medicare.
Experience:
2+ years of midwifery experience preferred.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows evidenced-based practice guidelines and standards of care. Provides direct patient care to women from menarche to end of life. Evaluate and treat patients for gynecologic, prenatal, and postpartum concerns. Provides family planning and contraceptive services. Arranges referrals and consultations for patients with healthcare needs beyond the scope of practice or communicates with physicians appropriately. Communicates and coordinates with hospitals for scheduling inductions and cesareans as needed. Reviews labs and ultrasound reports and develops a plan of care when abnormal. Prescribes medications to patients, including counseling patients regarding the proper use and contraindications of medications as well as detect and diagnose adverse drug reactions. Evaluate medical charts to determine appropriate patient care follow-up and education. Accurately and completely charts regarding patient interactions into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and completes charts in a timely fashion. Works within and supports a team-based and integrated care model, which includes medical assistants, physicians and other medical specialties. Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts. Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly. Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee, and business information. Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the Internetand MS Office Products. Ability to monitor labor and read fetal heart tracing with appropriate interventions and care. Confidence with normal labor progress, assessment and timing for consultation if intervention may be deemed necessary. Ability to perform successful vaginal birth. Ability to perform laceration repair in the obstetric setting Assist with cesarean delivery Perform post-partum assessment in the hospital and help guide patient to discharge with appropriate follow up. Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities Attends clinic meetings, specialty meetings, provider meetings, all staff meetings, and all other meetings as assigned. Helps determine topics of interest for specialty meetings to evaluate the quality and efficiency of women patient care needs.
Working environment/physical activities:
Office environment within a clinical setting as well as home call with hospital responsibilities. Enters patient data into computer programs via use of an EMR database system, mouse, and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes and synthesizes information from others to assist in decision-making. On call duties including rounding, travel to and from the hospital, in hospital charting via different EMR and care associated with a laboring mother.
