This role works closely with the Manager of Health Services and functions under the clinical oversight of the Medical Director. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, detail-oriented, client-centered, and committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and high-quality reproductive healthcare. Responsibilities Clinical Care & Reproductive Health Services Provide primary reproductive health care, including comprehensive abortion services Participate in abortion care services, which may include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing services, scheduling, and related client support Provide medication abortion services and perform manual aspiration services according to written protocols Perform ultrasound to determine length of pregnancy according to written protocols Conduct physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system Secure and review complete health histories and accurately document findings Provide client intake, counseling, education, and follow-up care Provide client-centered care in a respectful, supportive, and professional manner Diagnostic Testing & Treatment Perform and order diagnostic studies as indicated Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing and laboratory work Provide appropriate treatment and follow-up as necessary Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections, as appropriate Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with legal and organizational standards Contraceptive Services Provide comprehensive birth control counseling Insert and remove intrauterine contraceptives/IUCs Insert and remove birth control implants, as applicable Educate clients regarding reproductive health options and follow-up care Compliance & Quality Management Maintain compliance with carafem medical protocols and clinical policies Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, and state department of public health policies and guidelines Maintain laboratory logs, control logs, and other OSHA/bloodborne pathogen documentation as required Complete monthly and quarterly quality management audits, with or without corrective action plans Maintain accurate documentation and follow all legal and organizational standards Team Collaboration & Clinical Support Participate in clinical meetings, peer review, and protocol updates Serve as a clinical resource and assist in staff training Provide after-hours/on-call urgent client care recommendations, as assigned Work collaboratively with health center staff to support routine health center operations and upkeep Represent carafem professionally in the community and support awareness and trust Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant with active licensure in the state of Maryland Master's degree or equivalent required Minimum two years of related clinical experience preferred Current BLS/CPR certification required Current ACLS certification required if sedation is provided at the practice site Experience in reproductive healthcare, abortion care, women's health, OB/GYN, family planning, or sexual health strongly preferred Ultrasound experience preferred Experience with medication abortion care preferred Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment Commitment to client-centered, compassionate, and nonjudgmental healthcare delivery Strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills Physical Requirements Exposure to clinical environments and safety protocols related to bloodborne pathogens Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and use of hands Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Clear communication skills and visual acuity required Ability to work in a clinical healthcare environment and follow all safety protocols Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible spending account Health savings account Employee assistance program Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan with employer contribution Schedule Full-time 40 hours per week Day shift After-hours/on-call urgent client care recommendations may be required, as assigned Compensation Pay range: $100,000-$105,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, licensure, scope of practice, and final approval Medical Specialty OB/GYN Sexual and reproductive health care Abortion care Family planning Diversity & Inclusion carafem celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all individuals feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. carafem is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
