Job Description

We're looking for a locum OB/GYN to provide inpatient-only coverage in Midland, Michigan. This role is 24-hour call shifts in a collaborative Labor & Delivery setting with certified nurse midwife support. You'll work alongside an experienced team and handle a mix of primary and secondary call responsibilities. Schedule and Setting Inpatient-only (hospital-based) 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)
EMR:
Epic with Dragon Call rooms available onsite How the call works Primary call: provider remains onsite for the full 24-hour shift. Primary responsibilities focus on Labor & Delivery coverage and circumcisions. Certified nurse midwives provide overnight L&D coverage from 7:00 PM-7:00 AM and practice independently, contacting the physician as needed.
Secondary call:
may be taken from the hotel, but provider must check in onsite each morning at 7:00 AM. Core responsibilities Provide Labor & Delivery support as needed Manage obstetrical emergencies and inpatient women's health care Perform Dilation & Curettage (D&C) Perform emergency gynecologic surgeries and tubal ligations Provide Emergency Department coverage Read nonstress tests (NSTs) Perform laparoscopy as indicated Perform circumcisions as needed (internal providers can assist if needed) Procedures & experience Strong inpatient obstetrics experience is required Comfortable managing obstetric and gynecologic emergencies Circumcision experience preferred but not required Qualifications MD or DO required Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (physicians who completed residency within the past five years are eligible if board eligible) Michigan medical license preferred; Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) candidates will be considered Required certifications Fetal Heart Monitoring

If you're comfortable working in a hospital-based L&D environment, handling emergencies and a variety of inpatient procedures, this is a hands-on role with strong midwife collaboration in Midland, MI.
