Greenville, NC Service setting: Hospital Assignment type: Locum Tenens, ASAP -
Ongoing Coverage:
Clinical + in-house call (nights & weekends); shared with OBGYN generalists and certified nurse midwife
Shift:
Approximately eleven 24-hour shifts per month Patient volume & case mix Patient volume: ~50 patients/day
Admissions:
~10/day, ~5/night Surgical cases: ~10/month (per surgeon) Case mix: Labor & Delivery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, emergency consults, surgical cases Responsibilities Provide in-house OB/GYN coverage and respond to codes Serve as backup for ED consults and when covering the ER Perform urgent and emergent obstetric and gynecologic procedures as required Required procedures (must be able to perform) Cesarean delivery D&C (obstetric and gynecologic) Diagnostic laparoscopy Operative laparoscopy Urgent/emergent gynecologic procedures Facility & support Standard hospital equipment available Specialty backup: NICU support via Maynard Children's Hospital Support staff: 27 physicians, 9 APPs, certified nurse midwife Privileges & compliance Hospital privileges required Compensation & logistics
