35 Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in a full-time role. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled CNM to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative team of physicians, midwives, and healthcare professionals.
Position Overview:
As a Certified Nurse Midwife , you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to women throughout various stages of life. You will work within an integrated healthcare system that values compassionate, evidence-based care while promoting wellness, education, and patient advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for obstetric patients ✅ Labor and delivery support , including low-intervention births and assisting in medical management as needed ✅ Well-woman gynecologic care , including routine screenings, contraceptive counseling, and menopausal care ✅ Patient education and counseling to promote healthy pregnancies and reproductive well-being ✅ Collaboration with OB/GYN physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure coordinated, team-based patient care ✅ Emergency and high-risk obstetric assessment in coordination with maternal-fetal medicine specialists ✅ Participation in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to best practices in midwifery and maternal health ✅ On-call coverage as part of the CNM team to support laboring patients and obstetric triage needs
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔ Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with an active North Carolina license (or ability to obtain) ✔ Board Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) ✔ Master's or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program ✔ Valid North Carolina RN and CNM licenses ✔
DEA License Certifications Required:
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) ✔ Minimum of 1-2 years of midwifery experience preferred (new graduates considered with strong clinical training) ✔ Commitment to patient-centered care with excellent communication and teamwork skills Why Join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist? ✨ Leading Academic & Healthcare Institution
