Job Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Clinical Care:
Provide full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic services, consistent with scope of practice and regulatory standards.
Deliver care that reflects evidence-based guidelines, patient-centered principles, and a commitment to health equity.
Collaborate closely with obstetricians and subspecialists to ensure safe, timely consultation and escalation of care when indicated.
Participate in call schedules and hospital coverage as defined by the practice.
Review and charting of normal and abnormal laboratory results
Telephone triage as needed
Care coordination with nursing, social work, other referrals and consultants CNM Leadership and supervision:
Serve as the primary clinical leader for the CNM team within the AMG practice.
Provide mentorship, onboarding, coaching, and professional development for CNMs.
Promote consistency in midwifery clinical standards, documentation, and practice patterns.
Partner directly with the Lead OB Collaborator to ensure alignment of MD-CNM workflows and shared clinical expectations.
Quality, Safety & Performance Improvement:
Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities.
Support maternal and neonatal outcome monitoring and improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and expansion of midwifery services within AMG.
Participate in workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention of CNMs.
Collaborate on scheduling models, access improvement, and practice efficiency initiatives.
Assist in policy and protocol development relevant to midwifery care and collaborative practice.
1. Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) 2. Licensed in the State of New Jersey 3. Eligible for credentialing within Atlantic Health System 4. Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical midwifery experience preferred 5. Demonstrated experience in leadership, mentorship, or program development strongly preferred
