Provides antepartum, post-partum, family-planning and well-woman gynecological care independently and with consultation to low, moderate and high-risk adolescent and adult women based on scope of practice and established guidelines. This care is guided by practice protocols and standards established under the direction of the Medical Director and Clinical Vice President of Women's Services. Functions in collaborative relationships with consulting physicians as clinically indicated. Participates in the daily functions and staff rotations as directed by the Medical Director. Follows all organizational, regulatory and human resource policies and procedures as established by Legacy Health System. Practice includes full participation in outpatient care.
PRACTICES FULL SCOPE OF MIDWIFERY
Education/Licensure:
Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse/ Nurse Midwife/ Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required. National Certification as a Nurse Midwife (MW) required. Possess active BLS card from the American Heart Association.
Experience:
Full scope women's healthcare and midwifery experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work with people in a diplomatic and tactful manner, utilizing effective leadership and group process skills. Demonstrated competency in clinical care, as appropriate to the ages of patients served. Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs; knowledge of growth and development; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
