Certified Nurse Midwife - IRMC Physician Group OBGYN - Full Time

Position Summary:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive women's healthcare with a focus on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and gynecological services. The CNM practices in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the lifespan. This role emphasizes education, prevention, and support to promote optimal health outcomes for women and newborns.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care Conduct comprehensive assessments, including health histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations Manage low- to moderate-risk pregnancies and identify complications requiring physician collaboration or referral Perform routine gynecologic services, including annual exams, family planning, contraception management, and menopausal care Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies Educate patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, nutrition, and overall wellness Provide counseling and support related to reproductive health, pregnancy options, and lifestyle modifications Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care Participate in on-call coverage and attend deliveries as required Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Adhere to all clinical, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of practice Current DEA certification (or eligibility) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred or required within a specified timeframe Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred (new graduates may be considered)

Work Environment & Schedule:
