Certified Nurse-Midwife Full Job Description Position Summary :
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive healthcare services to women throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, and ongoing gynecologic care. The CNM will deliver both clinical and administrative support while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be experienced in women's health, patient education, and evidence-based clinical practice. This role requires strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to promoting positive health outcomes for patients across the lifespan. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and gynecological care to patients. Perform physical examinations, obtain medical histories, assess patient conditions, and develop treatment plans. Monitor pregnancies, identify complications, and collaborate with physicians and specialists for high-risk patient management. Conduct routine gynecological services, including well-woman exams, Pap smears, contraceptive counseling, STI screening, and preventive care. Educate and counsel patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, reproductive health, family planning, nutrition, disease prevention, and self-care. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and screenings to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with licensure and organizational policies. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care and positive health outcomes. Refer patients to specialists when appropriate and participate in co-management of complex cases. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, HIPAA, and organizational standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and patient safety programs. Provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical guidance to support staff, students, and residents as applicable. Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of women's health services. Maintain professional competency through continuing education and required licensure/certification activities. EDUCATION
CNMs are licensed registered nurses (RNs) with a MSN degree in nurse midwifery at an accredited program. Licensure and Certification Has a license to practice Midwifery and has attained national certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board. PROFESSIONAL
Demonstrated expertise in relevant medical practices, protocol, trends and best practices in central areas assigned. Demonstrated knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations. Identified ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully. Exhibited proficiency in knowledge of office management, use of computer, software packages, and office machines. Job Type:
