Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive maternity and women's health services within an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in obstetrics, gynecology, and primary care, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, you will play a vital role in supporting women through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum care while also managing routine gynecological health needs. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to develop individualized care plans. Provide prenatal education, family planning counseling, and postpartum support to promote healthy pregnancies and maternal well-being. Monitor fetal development using sonography and other diagnostic tools; interpret results accurately for clinical decision-making. Administer medications, and injections and postpartum following medical protocols. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans. Assist in specimen collection and processing, and follow-up care. Maintain proficiency in obstetric procedures and protocols as applicable, and acute care management. Skills Extensive knowledge of obstetrics & gynecology (Ob/Gyn), physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to women's health. Proficiency in medical documentation, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and care plan development. Skilled in injection administration, specimen collection/processing with attention to safety standards. Experience with clinic based care; familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records). Strong patient care skills with the ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments confidently. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records; understanding of NCQA standards for quality healthcare delivery. Ability to monitor vital signs effectively; manage labor & delivery processes; provide family planning education; oversee pain management strategies. Prior experience in prenatal care is advantageous; familiarity with outpatient services and acute care protocols enhances overall effectiveness.
