Job Description

Company Description My Family Birth Center is a community-focused birth center dedicated to providing safe, personalized, and family-centered maternity care. The center emphasizes evidence-based practices, respectful communication, and shared decision-making to support individuals and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Care is provided in a calm, home-like environment that promotes comfort and confidence during the birth experience. The team collaborates closely with local healthcare providers and hospitals to ensure continuity of care and timely access to higher levels of support when needed. Role Description The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) may provide primarily care to clients throughout pregnancy, and the postpartum, and newborn periods at My Family Birth Center. This part-time, on-site role in Layton, UT includes conducting prenatal and postpartum visits, performing focused physical assessments, ordering and interpreting appropriate tests, and developing individualized care plans. Day-to-day responsibilities also include counseling on family planning, lactation, and newborn care, assisting at births; maintaining accurate documentation; collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals; and participating in quality improvement, client education, and community outreach activities. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in midwifery care, including Maternity and Midwifery skills for prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum management. Strong Nursing and Medicine knowledge to provide safe, evidence-based care, including assessment, clinical decision-making, and emergency response. Experience in Family Planning counseling, including contraceptive options, preconception care, and reproductive health education. Current Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification and active RN license, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Utah. Advanced practice degree in nursing or midwifery (Master's or higher) from an accredited program. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Ability to provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and inclusive care to diverse clients and families. Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based birth center environment.
