3 East St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center, North Campus, is seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for our open full time Recreation/Music Therapist. We aspire to be a team of talented, compassionate professionals helping our clients in their personal journey of healing, resilience, and recovery, through our exceptional care and our use of the highest quality evidence-based practice. The Recreation/Music Therapist plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team serving individuals who have been court ordered to the Department of Mental Health for inpatient psychiatric treatment with the goal of restoring the individuals' competency to proceed in their legal case. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery-based environment.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Assessment of basic skill functioning related to services provided through the Rehabilitation Services Department. Planning and implementing a wide range of treatment groups designed to meet the social, vocational, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of clients. Case management including developing and maintaining individual treatment plans and related documentation, individual therapy, goal setting, family contact, and client advocacy. Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, program meetings, and department meetings. Competency in the implementation of assigned psychosocial program principles and procedures, as well as program and departmental documentation expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
College degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field. CTRS or MT-BC preferred, but not required
