Full Job Description Work Days/Hours:

Monday-Saturday, flexible, day and evening hours available Reports to:

MT/Wellness Department Chair Position:

Hourly, non-exempt Scope of Work This is a part-time faculty position. In addition to therapeutic assignments, music therapy/wellness faculty members will contribute to the growth of the CMS Music Therapy Department by working in and helping to expand existing internal and external programs, including adaptive lessons.

JOB DUTIES

• Maintain a schedule of music therapy (MT) sessions, adaptive lessons, traditional lessons (as needed), and group offerings within the department
• Minimum 8 hours with both internal and external client facing time, in addition to travel and documentation. Potential to grow into full-time
• Prepare and implement lesson plans for internal and external music therapy and adaptive students
• Contribute to the development of music therapy curriculum incorporating therapeutic approaches for MT and adaptive lesson students
• Create a transition plan for adaptive students to eventually receive instruction from a traditional (non-MT) faculty member
• Collaborate within the MT/Wellness department or with other faculty members as appropriate
• Support traditional faculty members or programs incorporating neurodivergent students
• Wellness programming
• Schedule and hold consultation meetings with prospective students
• Documentation for student sessions, IEP, documentation, goals, recommendations for services
• Work with MT Department Chair to maintain internal inventory of current department supplies, instruments, and materials needed to provide services within the department
• Create a department "wish list" and make recommendations for needed materials
• Provide support for neurodiverse students who register in any CMS program as part of the School's non-discriminatory practices as outlined in our policies and procedures and mission statement
• Participation in CMS events, as needed/able

Rate of Pay:

$27-70 per hour, commensurate with experience Simple IRA with 3% employer matching funds Health Insurance (must work 20 hours per week, 50% employer contribution)
