Job Description

Summary of Position Teach didactic, laboratory, or clinical courses in bachelor's or master's degree respiratory care programs. Course assignments and availability vary each semester. Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students promptly. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university-provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies Minimum Qualifications:
A t least an earned master's degree and expertise in the content area to teach in the Master of Respiratory Care program. At least a bachelor's degree and clinical expertise in the content area to teach in the undergraduate BSRC program. Currently credentialed and licensed as a Respiratory Therapist or a licensed medical doctor. Minimum of two years of experience in respiratory therapy. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate to teach in the Master of Respiratory Care and Master's degree to teach in the BSRC program. American Association for Respiratory Care member and Quality Matters certification if teaching an online course. Other desirable credentials include ACCS, CPFT/RPFT, SDS/RPSGT, NPS, and AE-C certifications.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:
work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
